Pack No Trace™

What does it mean to
"Pack No Trace?"
From your local park, all the way to the high peaks of the Himalayas, now more than ever, it is important for us to approach our adventures with the mindset of generating less waste. Many of us have spent our lives practicing LNT principles, but the reality is that even trash that gets packed out, is still trash generated, and that trash has to go somewhere. In the U.S alone, there are over 1.8 million acres of land in use for landfills, and the more trash we generate, the more landfills are needed to dispose of it. Join us in our mission to get rid of as much plastic generated from adventures as we can.
Changing Your Mindset
-
Replace cheap plastic products with re-usable/long lasting products wherever possible
-
Try to repair old gear, instead of throwing it out and buying a new one
-
Think about how you can generate the smallest amount of trash possible from each adventure
-
If you do have to generate trash, ALWAYS pack it out, and recycle/compost what you can
Remember, it's not about going from 100-0 immediately or being perfect every time, it's about thinking if ways you can minimize your impact before you even leave the house.
